An illuminating factor was her conviction to touch and help others via her commitment to various causes that thwart many afflictions of humanity. The Aaliyah Memorial Fund was created as a vehicle whereby the general public could contribute to and support causes that Aaliyah found important. Some of the benefactors already include the Revlon/UCLA Women's Breast Cancer Research Program, the Sloan Kettering Memorial Center for Cancer Research, the National Breast Cancer Coalition and Step-up Women's Network. The Eminem produced 2Pac album "LOYAL TO THE GAME" Includes the lead single "Thugs Get Lonely Too" in addition to 11 other PREVIOUSLY UNRELEASED songs and 4 bonus tracks. Featured artists on this album include 50 Cent, Jadakiss, Lloyd Banks, Nate Dogg, Obie Trice, Outlawz, Ron Isley, Sleepy Brown, and Young Buck.

MAKAVELI BRANDED is the new clothing line from Afeni Shakur. The brand was launched in late 2003 and has gone nationwide. Proceeds from the clothing line go to the Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation and Center for the Arts in Stone Mountain, GA. Purpose of the brand is to continue to keep Tupac's legacy alive through fashion.
